The Tamron 17-50mm F4 Di III VXD (Model A068S) in Sony E-mount is a zoom lens for full frame Sony E / FE mount mirrorless camera systems, covering ultra wide-angle through to standard zoom focal lengths. The 17-50 offers fast, constant f4 performance throughout the zoom range, making it a very versatile lens for the full frame Sony E / FE mount camera system user. A perfect lens for indoors or wide landscapes to casual photography standard focal length range. Furthermore it features excellent close-range shooting performance with close focus to just 0.19m at the 17mm wide end and 0.3m at the 50mm end. It is a compact lens, and takes a standard 67mm filter size.

The constant F4 aperture throughout the zoom range makes it great for still images and also video shooting. Advanced optical performance with rich bokeh at F4, the optical construction of the Tamron 17-50mm F4 Di III VXD consists of 15 elements in 13 groups, with the inclusion of special lens elements, including three LD3, one GM4 and two hybrid aspherical lens elements. This optical design offers maximum resolving power across the entire frame and minimises unwanted artefacts. Additionally BBAR-G25 Coatings and a Fluorine Coating is applied to the Front & Rear surfaces. Moisture Resistant Construction and Fluorine Coatings on the front and rear lens surfaces ensure maximum durability when out in the field.

The Tamron 17-50 VXD is also a compact and lightweight lens, weighs just 460g and is a compact 114.4mm long. It features internal zooming so the length of the lens stays constant, and is well balanced on Sony mirrorless camera systems. The fixed barrel length and internal zoom mechanism that make it easy to maintain framing while shooting still images and video, and also means it can be easily balanced with a electronic gimbal or stabiliser, and balance will not change when zooming.
