The Sigma 8-16mm F4.5-5.6 DC HSM Lens for Nikon DSLR Cameras is an ultra-wide angle lens designed specifically for APS-C DSLRs. FLD glass elements (with performance equal to fluorite) help compensate for colour aberration while a hybrid aspherical lens and two glass mold elements provide excellent correction of distortion and astigmatism. A highly creative tool, this lens features an inner zoom system as well as the feature of full-time manual focus override. Ideal for a variety of photography subjects including landscape photography, architectural photography, wedding photography, photojournalism and interior photography to name a few.

As part of the Art line within Sigma's Global Vision series, this lens is designed to achieve truly notable optical performance and is ideally suited for creative and artistic applications.

Wide-angle zoom is designed for use with DX-format Nikon F-mount cameras and provides a 12-24mm equivalent focal length range.

Four F Low Dispersion (FLD) elements and one Special Low Dispersion (SLD) element are featured in the optical design, and help to reduce colour fringing and chromatic aberrations for improved clarity and colour accuracy.

One aspherical element is used to help limit distortion and spherical aberrations and also contributes to greater overall sharpness and accurate rendering.

Super Multi-Layer Coating has been applied to individual elements to minimize flare and ghosting for improved contrast and colour accuracy when working in strong lighting conditions.

Hyper Sonic Motor (HSM) realizes quick and quiet autofocus performance as well as full-time manual focus override.

Built-in lens hood helps to prevent stray light from causing flare or ghosting and also guards the front element from accidental impacts.
