With the SB-5000 professional flashgun (the successor to the Nikon SB-910), Nikon has managed to create a powerful lighting tool that can be used on or off-camera which has control, intelligence and great usability. It is the first Nikon Speedlight to be equipped with a radio-controlled Advanced Wireless Lighting function, and with a cooling system that enables more than 100 continuous full-power flashes.
Improve Your Creative Photography
The Nikon SB-5000 AF Speedlight is designed to help you take control of the light and improve your flash photography. Advanced cooling and a radio controlled wireless system will allow you to push your creative boundaries further than ever before.
Suitable for Indoor & Outdoor Scenes
With a guide number of 34.5 in FX-format and 41 in DX-format the SB5000 is great for both indoor and outdoor shooting. Its improved cooling technology allows busy photographers to shoot more than 100 continuous full power flashes without overheating.
Full i-TTL Compatibility
Full compatibility with Nikon’s i-TTL system ensures plug and play simplicity and easy exposure control with a wide range of Nikon DSLR and Mirrorless cameras.
Wireless Radio Control Support
The built-in wireless radio control allows you to truly explore your creative potential. Combining the WR-A10 Wireless Remote Adapter and the WR-R10 Wireless Remote Control with your compatible DSLR enables you to wirelessly control the SB-5000 and up to 6 groups of flashes from up to 100 metres away. Complicated lighting set ups can now be configured quickly and enables you to position lights without having to worry about line of sight to trigger them.
Versatile Flash Head
Exposure accuracy is delivered via a zoom head of 24-200mm which can be extended down to 14mm with use of the built-in diffusion panel. Its swivel flash head can be tilted between -7° and 90° and rotates 180° left and right, equipping you with the ability to experiment with bounce flash photography. Reflect the flash off a ceiling or wall to achieve lighting effects such as soft, subtle light or moody shadows.
Simplified Manual Controls
A convenient rotary multi-selector gives fast access to manual flash power and easy configuration of additional functions such as slow, high-speed, 1st and 2nd curtain options.
Fast Recycle Time
With its fast recycle time of between 1.8 and 2.6 seconds, the Nikon SB-5000 runs off 4 AA batteries, ensuring additional power is easily at hand if a shoot runs long.
