The XF 23mm f/2.8 R WR lens is a highly versatile 35mm full-frame equivalent prime, which is well suited to everyday photography and video. It is very compact at just 90g and 23mm long, which makes the XF 27mm f/2.8 one the most compact XF lenses to date. Its size is perfect for street, lifestyle, travel, and documentary photography, where discretion and ease of use are ideal.

Optical Design for High-Resolution Sensors

The lens features 8 elements in 6 groups, including two aspherical elements to minimise optical aberrations and maintain high levels of sharpness. It’s capable of resolving detail from Fujifilm’s latest 40.2MP X-Trans CMOS 5 HR sensor, delivering crisp, clear results. The optical system is designed for consistent performance even when focusing close down to 29cm from the subject.

Responsive Autofocus and Close Focus

Focusing is handled by a fast DC motor that uses an internal full-group focusing system. This delivers fast and silent AF for both stills and video. With a minimum focusing distance of just 20cm, the lens is effective for tabletop shots, close-ups and portraits, as well as for small object photography.

Premium Build with Enhanced Usability

Despite its size, the XF 23mm f/2.8 is built with metal components, and features weather sealing at nine critical points. The aperture and manual focus rings are carefully spaced for easy adjustment, and are textured for tactile control. Fujifilm has included a fixed ring between the controls to prevent interference, ensuring a smooth shooting experience in virtually any situation.
