The design of the Monovid is captivatingly elegant, but above all its outstanding optical performance puts it in a class of its own. Thanks to its eightfold magnification, its users can identify even the finest structures of the tiniest objects. A separate close-up lens that simply screws into the thread at the front of the glass reduces its close focusing limit to a mere 25 cm (9.8 in.), and transforms the Monovid into a first-class magnifier.
