The high-performance Sigma 70-200mm lens sports a magnesium alloy body that’s light in weight; Intelligent Optical Stabilization with an acceleration sensor an updated algorithm to achieve panning in all directions; high-speed autofocus, which is all thanks to its HSM (Hyper Sonic Motor). The lens also utilises 10 exclusive low-dispersion glass elements that includes 9 FLD (“F” Low Dispersion) glass elements and 1 SLD (Special Low Dispersion) glass element in order to deliver excellent correction of colour aberration; water- and oil-repellent coating on both front and rear lenses; dust- and splash-proof structure with special sealing applied to the manual focus ring, mount connection, zoom ring, and cover connection – making it the perfect lens to operate in all weather conditions, and a rounded 11-blade diaphragm that produces astonishing bokeh effects.

Uncompromising Optical Construction

Its optical construction is made up of a total of 10 low-dispersion glass elements to deliver superior optical performance throughout the entire zoom range. Nine F-Low Dispersion (FLD) elements and one Special Low Dispersion (SLD) element work in a delicate fusion to produce maximum corner-to-corner sharpness and true-to-life colour reproduction.

Built-in Optical Image Stabilisation

Fast, Accurate Autofocus

Autofocus is fast and accurate, as expected with any lens in Sigma’s Sport Line thanks to it’s Hyper Sonic Motor (HSM) focusing system. The barrel of the lens features an AF Function button that can be configured as a shortcut to various camera settings. A Manual Override function equips you with the ability to seamlessly switch from auto to manual focus, even during continuous AF for critical focusing requirements.

Focus Limiter Function

A focus limiter can also be employed to help improve the speed and accuracy of the auto focus when your subject is moving in a predictable path or is confined to a certain area.
