The 4x zoom lens offers a 35mm-equivalent focal length range of 150-600mm for a telephoto to super-telephoto perspective, making it suitable for a wide variety of shooting scenarios. Three separate VC modes are also available to suit various styles of shooting: Mode 1 is a balanced setting for general use, and promotes both a stabilised viewfinder image and stabilised results; Mode 2 is designed exclusively for panning movements; and Mode 3 is optimised to stabilise only during capture without stabilising the viewfinder image.

High Speed Auto Focus with Ultrasonic Silent Drive

Equipped with the whisper-silent Ultrasonic Silent Drive ring-type motor, the Tamron SP 150-600mm F/5-6.3 Di VC USD G2 Lens delivers excellent responsiveness and precision focus control. It boasts accurate high-speed focus to easily capture sharp images even when you subject is moving. When shooting in the AF mode, the full-time manual focus override allows you to instantaneously fine tune focusing manually without having to switch between modes so you can adjust your focus with professional accuracy.

Flex Zoom Lock

The lens has a new flex zoom lock mechanism which allows instant locking of the zoom at any focal length by simply sliding the zoom ring forward, giving you confidence to lock in your focal length so you can focus on composing the shot without any risk of the barrel extending. The zoom lock also features a switch to secure the lens in its retracted position to prevent any lens creep during transport.

Electronic Aperture Control

An electromagnetic diaphragm system uses electric pulse signals to accurately control diaphragm and aperture settings. This feature ensures consistent performance when shooting continuously at high rates. Electronic aperture control is only available for cameras compatible with the electromagnetic diaphragm.

Fluorine Coating

The front surface of the lens element is coated with a protective fluorine compound. • Expanded Customisation Options: The lens is compatible with an optional TAP-in Console accessory which is used to update lens firmware and make fine adjustments to the autofocus and VC. The lens is also compatible with two exclusively designed tele-converters to match the optics of the SP 150-600mm G2, which offer 1.4x and 2.0x magnification, providing a potential maximum zoom range up to 1200mm on a full frame sensor.
